New Berlin Plastics Invests in Electric Press
New Berlin, Wisconsin – Aug 18, 2010 – New Berlin Plastics has purchased an all electric injection molding press.

Held, President and CEO. “Adjusting to market conditions is our way of staying competitive and improving what we offer to our customers. This press accomplishes that by lowering cycle times, improving tolerance capabilities, and keeping manufacturing costs to minimum.”
Initially, the press will be used for an eight cavity tool that will begin production in early September. The switch housing will be molded with modified polyester and is the perfect program to introduce the press to the production floor explained Jim Schneberger, Director of Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement. “The press has been upgraded to give us real time process monitoring capabilities. In other words, we will be able to validate molding conditions from a remote location in real time. In the event of an anomaly the system will immediately notify us with the data necessary to keep production running within quality standards.”
“A similar electric press was added to the shop floor a few years ago.” added Tom Frank, Director of Sales. “Our technicians are already familiar with its capabilities and will be able to use it to its full potential from day one.”
The Plastar Si-IV by TOYO features a V-Shaped clamping unit, precision molding parameters, wide platen design, and an environmental friendly footprint due to reduced power consumption and low operating noise levels.
Founded in 1975, New Berlin Plastics manufactures custom injection molded plastic components for original equipment manufacturers of paper products, water processing equipment, valves, meters and controls, heavy motorcycles, industrial and consumer products and electronic equipment. Manufacturing occurs in a world Class, climate controlled, 100,000 square foot state of the art manufacturing facility with 38 horizontal and vertical presses ranging from 25-1200 tons.
